List of jobs prohibited to juveniles

On September 30, 2023, the 2004 Regulation of the Council of Ministers on the list of works forbidden to young people and the conditions of their employment at some of these works will expire. It will be replaced by the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of June 19, 2023, on the list of works forbidden to young people and the conditions for their employment at some of these works (Journal of Laws 2023, item 1240).

According to the list of prohibited work contained in the amendment, it will be possible to employ a juvenile employee over the age of 16, provided that:

1. it is necessary for professional preparation
2. the employment is not permanent, and its purpose is to familiarize the juvenile with the activities necessary for professional preparation
3. this is permitted by Annex 2 to the Regulation.

In connection with the aforementioned change, employers must remember to update the list of prohibited work and the list of prohibited work permitted for persons over 16 years of age and performed as part of professional preparation. The doctor providing preventive health care for adolescents should participate in determining the updated list. The revised regulations should be made known to employees.
